The Woodland Cabin

A recent commission for London based practice De Rosee Sa, saw me jumping on the Eurostar to head to near Mons in Belgium - to shoot their project, the woodland cabin. 

The small, but perfectly formed cabin, situated in woodland next to a lake, was both designed and built by the practice - on a budget of only £25,000. I was to shoot both stills and a short film and only had a day to do so. The weather forecast was not good at all, but luckily on arrival at around 11pm at night, the cabin was looking amazing in the light of the full moon, so I decided to try and do some experimental long exposure shots with the building lit by the moon. A 13 second exposure turned night into day and made for some of the best images I have made yet. My two favourites below:

The project was picked up by all the usual press and was featured in Dezeen, Archdaily, the Architects Journal and will be in an upcoming edition of Wallpaper. Not bad given the budget. Id like to think that the unusual images helped with this! Film and some other stills below:
